Trevor Kvaran, Ph.D.

Executive Director for Data & Analytics

Trevor Kvaran is the Executive Director for Data and Analytics in Enrollment Management at the University of Arizona.  Prior to joining Enrollment Management, Trevor was Director of Institutional Reporting & Insights and a senior data scientist for the U of A.  Before his career in higher education, Trevor was a VP and Managing Director of Data Science and Analytics for several marketing research firms.  In his current and previous roles, Trevor’s guiding principle is to leverage data to create insights that improve the decision-making process around complicated problems.  At the University of Arizona, Trevor has led the development of data tools that support a wide variety of the most challenging institutional issues, including faculty pay equity, net tuition revenue, enrollment modeling, institutional rankings, research funding, financial aid planning, and many others.

 

Trevor’s passion for Arizona higher education and the University of Arizona is deeply rooted.  He holds a B.A. degree from Northern Arizona, an M.A. in philosophy from Georgia State University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience from the University of Arizona.  Trevor is also a long-term adjunct instructor for Eller College of Management, where he has taught marketing analytics for the past 15 years in person, online, and in U of A international micro-campuses across the globe.  For his teaching work, Trevor was recently awarded the Outstanding Online Faculty Award by Eller’s online students.  Trevor has also published several papers in the area of decision-making, and his work in higher education has been represented at a variety of conferences such as the Association of Institutional Research, Higher Ed Data Warehousing, Educause, National Symposium on Student Retention, and the Lamborne-Hughes Institute.  Outside of work, Trevor enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and playing and listening to music.
