Mary’s primary role is to lend order to the chaos of Enrollment Management by spearheading new programs and projects, maintaining and fostering key relationships, identifying strategic initiatives, preparing communications, and researching our ever-changing profession. She supports Kasey Urquídez’s ideas, launching over 45 new initiatives since 2013.
A first-generation college student, Mary earned her undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in higher education from UA. As a student, Mary was a Regent on the Arizona Board of Regents. Prior to a career in Enrollment Management, Mary worked in university housing, pre-college programming, academic advising, and TriO programs. Her passion for and commitment to public higher education has earned her recognition from the American College Personnel Association and Eduventures, as well as the University of Arizona Staff Excellence Award.
Mary serves on the College Board’s Western Regional Council and has completed the College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy. Community engagement is a priority for her and she is a Flinn-Brown Fellow and a member of the Tucson Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Leaders Council, for leaders in the Tucson community under 40. She is also an international volunteer for Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
