In her current role, Arezu oversees Undergraduate Admissions Processing, Enrollment Management Systems and Communication, and Enrollment Analytics and oversees the Graduate Recruitment and Enrollment Initiatives for the Graduate college. She works with her team to create efficient and accessible processes to support recruitment and enrollment initiatives to best serve prospective students and their families. 

Arezu’s passion for working in higher education was ignited when she was a peer advisor as an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona mentoring low-income and first generation students. In 1998, she began her career as an admissions counselor with a focus on early recruitment. Her career at the University of Arizona spans a variety of roles across campus over 25 years in areas including admissions and recruitment, academic advising, retention programming for low-income and first-generation students, and systems and technology. She currently serves on the Executive Board for the Arizona Women in Higher Education and is a member on the College Board's Western Regional Council.

During her time at Arizona, Arezu has developed award-winning programs recognized by the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education. She was recognized with the University of Arizona Staff Award for Excellence in 2004 and 2008, Outstanding Staff Member for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences in 2004, and Outstanding Advisor Award in 2008 for the University of Arizona and the National Academic Advising Association.  In December of 2022, she was recognized with the University Leadership Award at Eller's College of Management Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things.
 
Arezu is a proud Alumna of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Arts in Higher Education and Doctorate of Philosophy in Higher Education.
